There was a monarch in my area but seems something decided to taste it and left the wings. So did science class with the kids to show the scales of the wings.
It's been a lackluster year for pollinators here, last year the celosia patch was a constant buzz from the bees and the zinnias were a butterfly oasis. This year there hasn't been much and I'm not sure why, maybe the dry spell we had earlier in the messed up the cycle.
But have had a lot of silver spotted slippers the last week. Didn't take any pictures of those but spotted this Fiery Skipper yesterday. Thought he looked cool when he put his wings down, kind of like a F-22 look.
