More than it was beforeAnd it is accessible to hunters? mtmuley
Whether they allow access or not they won't be bitching to the commission or legislature about having too many elk on their property. And it is accessible to hunters? mtmuley
Because if sportsman continue to abuse the landowners that support public access and cause the ranch to be sold to a billionaire, sportsman lose.Who died and made landowners opinions the only concern?
I guess compromise is a one way street.
Understood. No access is no access. Doesn't matter who owns it. mtmuleyWhether they allow access or not they won't be bitching to the commission or legislature about having too many elk on their property.
I've never had an issue with getting permission to hunt their stuff. And it is accessible to hunters? mtmuley
I have. mtmuleyI've never had an issue with getting permission to hunt their stuff.
I am not sure what exactly you are implying? That I have a fat wallet?High tolerance of elk and allow reasonable and responsible access to elk hunters. All elk hunters not just those with fat wallets.
I was guessing five years. Much less time than the 10+ years of shoulder seasons and increased piss pounding of elk that FWP has used to compound the problems.I bet within 3 hunting seasons you would see significantly better general hunting.
Many areas in Montana elk use public lands during the summer. If they weren't pressured for 11 weeks why would they leave?
Only reason they leave is because of pressure, dead in the back of a pickup, or really significant snow, that we rarely get even into December anymore.
I'm implying that apr allows public access and has a high tolerance for elk and other wildlife on their property and don't whine to the commission and legislature about that wildlife.I am not sure what exactly you are implying? That I have a fat wallet?
I 100% agree.I think the western side of 700 and eastern side of 410 will benefit greatly from the APR buying the 73 ranch
Yeah you drew a year too early. They had just acquired the place you wanted to hunt and had not set up a management plan on hunting and access.I have. mtmuley
Is this a generalized attack or specific to the landowners of district 410 that we are discussing? Many of the landowners crying about elk charge for bull and cow hunting then cry about over objective elk.
The truth isn't an attack, generalized or unit specific. Is this a generalized attack or specific to the landowners of district 410 that we are discussing?
Yeah. What the Hell. Their management plan was big bulls were on the property. So, no hunting. Bet they let anyone in now. mtmuleyYeah you drew a year too early. They had just acquired the place you wanted to hunt and had not set up a management plan on hunting and access.
How dare they get the horse in front of the cart and develop a management plan.
You could hunt lots of other apr land when you drew, however.
How are sportsmen abusing landowners? By telling them the truth that the management policies that FWP has implemented in response to their complaints aren’t working, are harming the resource and other shareholders interests and we aren’t going to support a continuation of doubling down on the same old thing while expecting different results?Because if sportsman continue to abuse the landowners that support public access and cause the ranch to be sold to a billionaire, sportsman lose.
Not sure why sportsman continue to trash landowners, especially the ones willing to support sportsman.
I couldn't give a shit less what they do with their property or if they allow access or not.Because if sportsman continue to abuse the landowners that support public access and cause the ranch to be sold to a billionaire, sportsman lose.

They let my Dad hunt...Yeah. What the Hell. Their management plan was big bulls were on the property. So, no hunting. Bet they let anyone in now. mtmuley
In 2018? mtmuleyThey let my Dad hunt...
That is incredibly short sighted and counter productive to sportsman interests. You can reject efforts to try to protect what sportsman have created but don’t shit on others efforts.I couldn't give a shit less what they do with their property or if they allow access or not.
But when it comes to elk offer them the tools they need via private land only cow permits and the phone numbers of all the people holding those tags
Their choice, they have the ability to control elk or not. Live with your choice and don't complain about elk.
I offered to kill a cow on my first breaks bull permit on a private place that the landowners told me cost them $5k a year in alleged fencing repairs. Complained the fwp wasn't doing enough to control elk.
The response I got?
"Oh we can't let you in to kill a cow, we have paying clients coming in this weekend".
So I whacked a bull the last day of the hunt, and I'm hopeful the cow I would have shot tore down a mile of fence on their property.
I have zero sympathy for those types.
