Bowhunters - not a big impact?

It’s just another example of things that haven’t stayed up on the times for game management

When changes take place via ignorant at best and corrupt at worst legislative politics - good change will certainly come rarely and slow... wish fwp had more power to manage

It doesn't matter archery or rifle, tracking and being a woodsman is a dying skill. It's not even on most hunters radars anymore as something to know how to do. My dad and my other early hunting mentors drilled home the importance of knowing trees and bushes, reading and understanding terrain in regards to animal movement, using a compass, and how to track animals. People just want to fast track the killing and skip over the necessary skills. It's a damn shame.

No I don’t the bull that I shot at 115 was second arrow the first one I hit at like 50 if I remember right.

I can't imagine even taking that shot. But to post video evidence online is just a lack of self awareness!

His bow is either too high of a draw weight, or he has some bad target panic... I had to work through that in the past. It does suck.

Yep- I saw his bow hop off of the back wall just a bit for a second while he was holding, my guess is he is over-bowed here too.

Here’s an example of modern compound technology going too far:

I haven’t shot my bow in a couple weeks. I pulled up to the range, stepped out of the truck cold, forgot to consider the maybe 6mph light breeze on my neck moving left to right, and this was my first shot of the day at 134 yards:


I then shot 2 arrows each at 90, 100, 110, and the one green arrow at 120, which I would consider a poor shot but within the “BOA”:



Adult onset hunters without much experience, people with poor ethics, people needing kill content for their egos/livelihood, etc. are having similar results at the range and carrying it over to the field on live targets with the multitude of other variables that accompany a living animal and hunting situation. I’d be all for regulating technology capabilities in all aspects of hunting, rifle and archery. We will eventually have to do so or face less opportunity to hunt.
