What pack do y'all use for Pronghorn hunts? I've looked at a ton of packs but wanted to get the boards opinion. I'd like to get a pack that could also be used in future western hunts for Muleys/elk. Thanks everyone for time.

I picked up a Scapegoat 35 that will probably be my new pack for chasing antelope and hiking into backcountry lakes.

Biggest criteria is carrying a spotter and tripod that can be easily accessed.

I use the same pack for everything, the J34. Its big for antelope, but I was able to pack out two in the same trip last fall to save some miles on the boots.

Are you one of the wealthy hunters that can just drop a "LARGE SUM OF MONEY" on a pack? There's absolutely NOTHING wrong with that if you have that kind of cash laying around, but if you're like some of us that have to be more thrifty.... I LOVE my military surplus Molle II pack!! I got mine for about $35, and then bought different pouches to attach, for rangefinder, GPS etc. Even has a place for a water bladder for hydration!

I have used the expensive style frame packs and to be honest, this one is more comfortable to carry (for me) and you could easily hike out more weight than you probably should!

Here is what I am talking about.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/US-Military-Issue-Complete-Large-Army-ACU-Camouflage-MOLLE-II-Rucksack-Back-Pack/362239095974?_trkparms=aid%3D555017%26algo%3DPL.CASSINI%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D50687%26meid%3D7ff0bbe4bec240e4905c20a419ff79b0%26pid%3D100506%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26%26itm%3D362239095974&_trksid=p2045573.c100506.m3226

Mystery Ranch Bighorn. Fits a boned out speed goat perfectly. Can carry 1/2 a mule deer easily as well. I got it at a steep discount when they were closing them out.

As a Marine, ACU offends me deeply. :)

But, these are outstanding packs and can be picked up for a very reasonable sum!

For me its a day pack capacity with a load cell.

I would consider the Mystery Ranch Popup 18/28 to be nearly perfect antelope packs. The Kuiu Icon Pro 1850 and Exo 2000 would also be great options.

My Exo 3500 is my one pack to rule them all. I've used it for pronghorn, deer, as a potential packer on an elk hunt, waterfowl and turkeys. It also is an excellent pack for hiking/backpacking as well. It may be $550 but if you use it for everything rather than having a variety of packs it takes the sting out a bit.

badlands 2200 worked great for me room for the gear and the pronghorn I harvested .

Eberlestock Team Elk, I use it for everything and I am hands free with the quick access internal scabbard.

My Eberlestock X-1 is a great large size day pack with room for optics / water a built in rifle scabbord and a bow shelf.
It does not have a load shelf like some haulers do or have the overload feature that MR packs have.
However........this pack was a gift and is intended to function as a day pack.
My Alps Commander Hauler pack will be for carrying quarters ( if I ever get an Elk ).
But the assignment was Antelope so this will be plenty for that, assuming we are not carrying him out in one piece.
