"For the second year in a row, wildlife biologists’ counts of speedgoats in Jackson Hole have flatlined, hovering about 90% lower than the previous high — a record — in the fall of 2022.
The reason for the decline is well known. Due to a combination of severe weather and disease, the winter of 2022-23 was brutal, culling the Sublette Pronghorn Herd from about 40,000 animals to 20,000."
