Here's a few quotes from the 2003 Idaho Hunting Regulations that came about from work done by our local ATV & sportsmans groups.

ITHACA, you called me a do nothing, choke on these. They made the printing without your approval, or your "freinds" support.

We did have a local game warden help submit the requests.

Page 13, It is Unlawful:
#8. Operate any vehicle in an area designated asclosed for that specific vehicle type.
#9. To operate a motor vehicle in violation of area, trail, or road restrictions.

Page 78, Paragraph 5:
Access management helps both wildlife and hunters. Your support is needed. Road closure violations can be reported by calling 1-800-632-5999, or any IDFG, BLM, or USFS office.

I'll bet you didn't even know what was going on till after it got printed.
After all you do own an ATV ,don't you?
So there is no way you could of been smart enough to even find your way down there,much less make any good comments .

Ten , do these laws give any backbone to regs that appearantly were already on the books? Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing your groups efforts,involvement is a great thing, but if the regs were already on the books will redundant laws be any better enforced?
Were any specific penalties spelled out for those caught?

MARS, the great thing about these are that they aren't new laws or regulations. This is just spelling out, in simple terms, the laws and regs that were already on the books. All we were after was making it easier for people to understand the existing laws. I am against making redundant laws.

The only thing new is the reporting ATV violations through the poaching hotline.

I think it's great, regardless of who implemented it. Sometimes you have to spell things out in the simplest terms for the wingnuts. The only problem is the necessary assumption that these violators bother to read the reg books. Maybe if you also started running PSA's during "NWF Smackdown" you'd get through to them.
