How about locking the doors on the cockpits of airplanes?

There isnt a terrorist in the world that will take over an airplane if they cant fly it into something...and thats a fact.

Just blowing up an airplane with a hundred or two passengers on board isnt going to happen...chump change.

I fly a fair bit and its a pain in the gdamn ass every single time...I'll take my chances.

"Big Sis" and the Obama crime family are making things worse...A little "Profiling" would help..:hump:... but arn't the cockpit doors already secure... Arm the pilots? these dipchits [tsa] were scanning/ frisking the pilots a month ago...how freaking stupid our gummit is sometimes...

I hate flying anymore if its 400 miles or less I drive....I left my house last month and was in Kingman before my brother got to Vegas... We got to Caesars at about the same time... and I brought more stuff... guns/fishing poles/ ice chest etc,etc....

My issue is TSA and the securities are a freaking Joke. Terrorists had "Box Cutters" if I remember right and took over planes. It wasn't guns and bombs. To me, TSA is a "Feel Good" security put in place for the majority of the Americans to keep flying.

Saying TSA catch and stop Terrorists is like saying F&G Check stations Catch and stop Poachers. Sure,the Dumb ones.......

It's not hard to get around the TSA Scanners and checkers if soemones life destiny is to blow up a plane. Lugguage and ground support have many flaws.

I'm not downplaying the people that died. Or that Freaks that want to blowup or kill people need to be stopped, but I do agree with Buzz that a Locked Pilot door would have stopped the crashes on 911.

Hit the nail on the head Moosie... The TSA security is only to make the public feel as though they are safe. What happens when someone uses items already ON the plane to try to take over control? Guess then passengers will be handcuffed to their seats.

how many complaints have you seen or heard of linked to sexual assault from TSA agents? You wouldn't need a pat down most likely anyway if you just went through the scanner.
What do you think would be the outcome if the airlines had 2 kinds of flights. One plane that had no luggage or travelers searched for those who feel their rights are being infringed, and one plane that took all the precautions possible. Who would you blame when the one that had no searches was blown out of the sky or flown into a building?
BTW, i am with Moosie and CJ on his statement in one way or another...

Yeah, there was a lawsuit filed in Denver Federal Court against the TSA for that just this week.
I was not implying specific cases though, when I mentioned sexual assault, I was suggesting that this type of search, on every individual is, by definition, sexual assault (indecent conduct toward another person accompanied by force, fear, shame)

As to "who would I blame", blaming is for ambulance chasers. I wasn't suggesting there be no security, but that with todays technology, there is surely another way to detect weapons and chemicals on persons without people being forced to choose whether your children will be photographed nude or fondled by a stranger.

I don't have to take the bus because I do not mind the tactic TSA Is using as a deterrent. I feel safe as well, only because they are doing so.
you seem to have your head in the sand as to how real the threat is and how bad it would be if there was no searches and scans.
You also seem to think 200 civilians including women and children is chump change, nice..

You do remember 9/11? You should...GWB crowed about it every chance he had when attempting to address the public , or when any question from the media was asked. Remember the buildings they hit?

I'd make a political statement right back to terrorists if I was running this mess...the plane they hijacked would be blown from the sky as fast as I could scramble an F-16....chump change and all.

The real threat is people like you...who trade freedom for temporary security.

Not sure how TSA was going to stop the Christmas Tree Kid. Are you now suggesting that everyone who goes to watch a Christmas Tree be lit in down town be subject to x-ray's and TSA pat downs?

You will also have to enjoy the watchful eyes, hands and smiles of the TSA inspectorate.
You may not find it entirely comfortable. However, like "Mythbusters" presenter Adam Savage, in the rush to leave the house, you may have forgotten that you have a couple of 12-inch razor blades secreted about your person.

Savage describes how earlier this year he was flying and happened to forget to remove potentially dangerous objects from his belongings.

Savage says he was shepherded through the body scanner "which, for some reason, makes my penis feel really small" and, once he got to the other side, discovered something quite surprising.

While his junk had been fully inspected, the ordinary scanner/all-over body scanner tandem seemed to have missed the blades.

Savage says he was somewhat alarmed at the TSA's apparent inattention. "My tiny junk is offended," he said.

Everyone appreciates that the TSA's job is not an easy one and that it's always hard in life to judge who is worth closer inspection.

However, one can only hope that, over the Thanksgiving period, the systems do manage to at least catch up to all the 12-inch razor blades that might be passing beneath their physical and metaphorical noses.

Weren't you the one bragging about how you "fly airplanes" to all your out of state hunts, and now you are the master at shipping boxes of crap to destinations ahead of time, relying on other people to receive your goods, then shipping more stuff home via UPS and FedEx?

Add up the cost in time (hour$) you spend preparing shipments, driving them to the UPS Store, spending money on freight, having somebody receive them on the destination. Then, all the same in reverse. Then multiply the "extra" costs you now incur to travel on airlines times the number of daily passengers, plus add in the extra hours you have to get to the airport early, and you will see the cost of all this "nonsense" is now way more than "chump change", and the benefit is dubious.

Your paranoia on the shoe bomber and the underwear bomber were both people that got on planes OUTSIDE the US. The TSA could do NOTHING to stop them. Fact.

With all due respect Buzz, if you think the only goal is a body count I'm not sure you understand terrorism. The reason you crash planes is not only to kill people, but do put fear into their every day life and to disrupt their normal patterns. I would wager that terrorists measure success more by how much they hurt the economies of the evil infidels more than the number of funerals. In that respect blowing up a plane with 100 people is just as effective as crashing it into a crowded building. The smile from ear to ear when the top story every night is how they have successfully disrupted our culture.
