7mm-08 Obsolete for a Mountain Rifle Cartridge?

Can't shoot them like a heavy rifle for sure. When shooting from the bench to work up loads, I have to rest a hand on top of the objective bell, or grip the fore stock securely, can't just let the rifle rest on its own on the front rest. The rifle being so light that the recoil will move the rifle before the bullet leaves the barrel. Just have to hold on and concentrate.

Patiently waiting for a Howa Superlite in .308 to come available to go with my Alpine in 6.5 CM.

A couple years back, a mountain bull I shot with a 7mm-08 Kimber MT... it's a good way to go for a lightweight mountain rifle.

The 7-08 is still one of my favorite cartridges, handles like a dream and keeping distance to a sane amount I cant imagine it wont kill cleanly with a 140 gr partition
