That just plain sucks!Biologist called today. 1 deer came back positive. The one I shot opening morning. Looked healthy when I shot him, nothing unusual about him but that’s what CWD does. I had his meat separated from the rest and I will discard it.

Yeah, that sucks . My deer came back " not detected". I really would have been bummed to haul it to the landfill.Biologist called today. 1 deer came back positive. The one I shot opening morning. Yeah, hard to get the deer to the side by side...........................I understand.

Side by side is so regular gun season. Tractor with the loader bucket this time of year.Yeah, hard to get the deer to the side by side...........................
How often you get the weather you’re looking for?Started yesterday! 40+ degrees is not how I like to muzzleloader hunt though.
We usually get a good cold snap, but snow is what really drives the deer out of the woods during the daylight. It’s been 3 or 4 years since we got a good amount of snow before the season ended. It’s supposed to cool off after the new year with high temps in the teens and there is some snow in the forecast. I will start tomorrow. They are calling for a southeast wind with a front moving tomorrow night and rain all day on Friday. A southeast wind is the best wind for a couple of my spots. How often you get the weather you’re looking for?

I don’t think I’ll be able to hunt tomorrow afternoon, but hopefully in the morning I’ll be back out. I should look at the weather and see what it’s going to do.I hunted Thursday: 44 deg and fog. Nothing. I’m skipping the 50 degrees this weekend and I’ll try next weekend.
