2025-26 Season plans?

I’ll be sticking with my usual Utah resident dedicated hunter deer, rifle spike elk or maybe general season bull, and OLT Bison.

WYO points for elk, deer and speed goats then buying deer and antelope points in Colorado and burning my couple elk points on a GMU 53 muzzleloader elk tag.

Should be fun lol

Hopefully playing pack mule for my buddy as long as he draws his WY tag. I'll put in for some auxiliary tags but nothing major.
Well, didn't even make it to the draw. Buddy's wife lost her job so he's going to withdraw his app due to uncertainty with how things will play out. I'm looking into some short trip options in the fall closer to home.

Trying for a less than 10% chance at a wy general elk and about 30% chance at a wy antelope tag. If neither of them, I'll either fish for trout in the rockies somewhere or head to Florida to vacation and fish.

Backcountry baby sitter found for a Family backcountry archery elk rut hunt! Hopefully burning my antelope points as well.

Arizona:
Elk, antelope

Colorado:
Antelope point, try to snag a doe tag on a second choice.
Deer point, try to snag a rifle tag on a second choice.
Elk point, try to snag an limited entry archery tag on a second choice. Failing that, probably OTC rifle.
M/MG/S points

Kansas:
Deer point, drew turkey

Kentucky:
Elk

New Mexico:
Elk, deer, pronghorn, oryx

Oklahoma:
Elk

Wyoming:
Elk, drew turkey
Antelope, deer, sheep, moose points

Edit: to be clear, these are just draws that I'm throwing into. I'll be lucky to draw one or two of the fall species.

Wanting to do 2 trips to Alaska this coming season but we lost our baby sitter for our black lab. My daughter moved away and where she's renting now doesn't allow pets.
My wife will have to watch "Scoter" while I'm in Alaska. She said I can go to Alaska one time without her but not two times.
Not having a sitter really puts the brakes on air travel.

nothing much.
there's never enough time.
Nothing out of state (unless WY elk hits on the random).
Only hope for big game success is WA summer/fall bear.
Maybe Nov MT WT doe/ bird expedition, but that seems unlikely too.

WY:
Applied my three (3) sons separately for Elk General W. They have 3 points or less (two are 'youth' entries with a Type 6 entry if Type 1 won).
My tag applied for a 3% random chance to a LE elk unit (I have 5 points).

AZ:
Points for deer and elk.

CO:
First choice for my three sons and myself - points for deer and elk.
Second choice - Two youth elk tags. If I get one WY tag, I will return these and hunt WY.

Best of luck to you. Hope you get to enjoy those points cashed in. Wow, you’ve got to be at max points on a couple.
Believe it or not, I never researched what the average person needs to retire. I just worked long, saved in 401k and paid off our houses. To my surprise, I ran my numbers for the first time last week and we are actually above average by quite a bit. On top of this our expenses will be well below average as we will live in our China home 4 months/year, where expenses are 20% that of US. And our red state US expenses also very low. So I’ll be retired comfortably once SS kicks in July next year. Just gotta make do until then.

Based on this, I’m going to apply for whatever I want this year. Got two decent 25% chances for WY & NM archery elk. Now got to get serious about Colorado appl with a week left. Burning 18 deer points is my main priority there. Will be nice if I hit on one of these OIL NV or UT hunts now, considering I’m retired.
