This is a load of bs. As a resident, I am also frustrated with our licensing. As are many other residents. I would be willing to pay more for my tags and would like to see nr fees lowered. I have a lot of friends/family that just can't justify the costs to hunt, or even fish, in mt...
If you don't like the already mentioned options, perhaps bond arms has something of interest. Or, a good .45 with the first few rounds being cci bird shot.
Didn't expand for shit out of my 7-08 at around 200yrds. Recovered bullet was in opposite shoulder, bent over nose and 100% retention. Killed the bull but required three shots in the vitals. That was a 140 tsx.
I agree. I use a 17hmr for most of my dog shooting, push it a bit over 300yrds on a good day. Cheap, no recoil, quit, all make for a great time. I do bring a 223 or 22-250 out to push my ranges.
Anybody play with the new 17 win super mag. Supposedly way better then the hmr, based off a .27...
I personally haven't seen a benefit in 4 vanes. I rock a quality vane, been playing with flex fletch, and generally a 2-3 offset. Helicals on short stiff vanes just don't work well.
Somewhat, never took this shot. Have drawn back at this angle, have held for a long time at this angle. Problem is, while at this angle, their eye sight and depth perception is way better. I will always prefer the broadside shot on a relaxed, unaware critter.
Not to keep poking this thing, but go listen to dans interview. First clip, 2:50 into it. Says it all from a guy that dwarfs most of what we think we know about stick'n elk.
This time. I'd rather be lucky then good so often in the field. Unfortunetly as seasons come and go without my monster muley I'm realizing I may be neither.
Almost same setup but 125 magnums. That's pretty accurate but if you want more... How consistent are your arrows. Weigh the components as you build to essentially get clones. Number them to check for fliers. Spin tests are key. Fine tune the bow with the blades on. Perhaps a low pro 3" vane...
And even less surface area if I took a Texas heart shot. Plus, I don't have to stare at antler and reduce the risk of a jumped string. Disregard anatomy and we're gold. If you're "lobbing" arrows at forty yrds and aiming for the blue, perhaps shrinking up the range is in order.
Few years ago a...
Totally unethical shot. That bull jumps the string more times then not and who knows what happens. Why not aim for the ass next time and hope to hit the femoral.
Made for an awesome story. Problem is now that shot gains credibility.
First of all, I love 03's and bet this one shoots well. However, this gun has zero collector value. It's market is as a shooter. Problem is, it's appeal is to a small market. Realistically, the gun is only worth a couple hundred bucks. Compare it to what you can buy a new rifle for and what you...
Zydico for jambalaya, get extra bread.
Naked noodle, gaucho with beef.
Ale works, meat loaf and Parmesan fries.
Lots of sporting goods stores; bobby wards and sporties are the best overall. Mall is ok, Main Street is fun to walk for a bit.
To many horror stories with mechanicals. Rage have a great marketing campaign, unfortunetly I have seen them fail to many times. Confidence is everything. I get a quality fixed blade, lots to pick from, then power tune.
