My wife and I are meeting my grandparents halfway to spend some time in Bozeman this weekend. We live in Wyoming and they are currently in Spokane. I've only passed through there and I'm wondering what sights we should go see? Is there any good sporting goods stores. Good places to eat? We'll be there Saturday through Monday. It will be the second time they have seen their (now 10 month old) great-granddaughter), so we are looking for some places that would be good to hang out as well as sight-see, I'm sure my wife would be ok with malls, lol. I'm sure my grandpa is going to want to check out the local gun stores, antique stores and pawn shops though! :D

Thanks for your guys' input!

I like Sweet Chili then go downstairs to The Copper for a nice whiskey. Dave's Sushi if that's your thing. Cat's Eye for breakfast. I've never had a bad meal at Ale Works.

Spend your time downtown...lots to do. Plenty of culture and fly shops to burn your wallet

Bob Wards and REI for sporting goods. Maybe a local could point you better.

Zydico for jambalaya, get extra bread.
Naked noodle, gaucho with beef.
Ale works, meat loaf and Parmesan fries.

Lots of sporting goods stores; bobby wards and sporties are the best overall. Mall is ok, Main Street is fun to walk for a bit.

I'll second Cafe Zydeco and the Cateye.
Take a drive to Ennis on a clear day and enjoy the views in the Madison Valley. The Shedhorn there is a nice gun shop, and there are a few artsy shops for those inclined. Ennis cafe isn't bad for lunch.
Museum of the Rockies can be neat in Bozeman.

Can Second Bob Wards for a localish gunshop to check out for how to burn your wallet. The weekend staff can be kinda hit and miss, mostly underpaid college kids who could care less; but every once in a while you will get one who knows their stuff. I spent three years working there while in college... If you make it down to Ennis, Shedhorn Sports is a must. IMO its probably one of the top 3 gun shops in Montana. Long story short... When I lived in Bozeman, I bought my guns at Shedhorn (even when I worked at Bob Wards..)

Can also second Ale Works for a good meal. Can get a bit noisy, if you call the day before you may be able to get reservations in "The Grill Room" side room for reservations, a bit quieter than the rest of the place. Good Food, Good Service, Several pool tables should you be so inclined, and probably the best beer list in Bozeman. The bistro is another good option for a Fine Dining Meal. The menu can be a bit confusing, and its kinda expensive, but the food is Excellent. Main Street Overeasy is another option for breakfast or lunch Tuesday-Sunday, closed Mondays. Simple, well made, good quality food.

The Museum is quite cool, and well worth a few hrs.

Almost forgot, stop by Mystery Ranch. Check out Stone Glacier at Schnee's too, and I bet Kurt Racicot would visit with you about them if you're so inclined.

Love the Western Cafe and Main Street Overeasy for Breakfast! Sweet Chillis' is one of my favortie places to eat lunch. People seem to really like Ale Works, but it gets a little busy for my taste. Its still good food though, just busy.

Museum of the Rockies would be a good way to kill an afternoon, not sure what else there is this time of year without involving a little snow in some fashion. Could hit up Chico Hotsprings south of Livingston about 50 minutes from Bozeman.

I completely agree with the comments about Shedhorn Sports . Even though it is over a hundred miles away, it is my go to gun shop.

Check out the Rib & Chop House in Livingston (20 miles away), then head down the Paradise Valley for some good opportunities to see elk, bison , etc.

Awesome, thanks guys. I think we will try to make the drive to Ennis, sounds like it would be worth it and the weather looks like it might cooperate. I would definitely like to check out Mystery Ranch since I'm in the market for a 2-3 night hunting pack, just not sure if they are in my budget...maybe I'll win a drawing while I'm there! Lol! We will probably end up killing some time in the museum.

Again, I really appreciate all of your input! Should be a great time!

Sorry to hijack your thread but I'm selling a coyote Longbow and Lid. Medium yoke, medium belt. I don't know where you are in WY, but it's possible you could pick it up on your trip. If you're interested, PM me and I can send pictures and details.

Seems like the thing to do if you live in Bozeman is to complain about the eastern part of the state then drive east to hunt durring the season then drive east again to fish the Bighorn and Ft Peck.:D

No worries, that is a sweet pack. I think I'm looking for something bigger though. I like the Metcalf but I think I'm starting to lean towards the Kuiu Icon 5200. Tough choices when it comes to packs.
