    Sounds like you need to make friends with some upperclassmen who live off campus. Make an arrangement and keep your stuff at their house. That's what I did several years ago while living on campus.

    Smart Phone versus dedicated GPS

    My phones not that old, year or so maybe. It holds a charge for two days under normal use. OnX just seems to drain it. I'll take the battery replacement under advisement though.

    Unit 37 NM

    I was next door in 36 2 weeks ago. Bulls were bugling, The elk above 7800ft were hearded up and heard bulls were moving in in some locations. There was no action below 7000 that I could find. Good luck!

    Because they are the best bang for your buck, and my personal experience is that they outlast just about every other brand out there, at least all the ones I have tried. What are you using that is so much better? I'm always looking for new gear ideas.
