Sighting in a 7mm-08 for the first time

IF you can keep the rifle perfectly stable while you make the scope adjustment, and that is a BIG if.

Sighting in a 7mm-08 for the first time

Your turrets are either calibrated either 1/4" or 1/2" per click at 100 yards, don't know that scope's particulars. If you are shooting at 50 yards, you will need twice the movement of the turrets to get the same change, 25 yards it would be 4 times the movement of the turret.

    Bighorn Mts Road Closures

We were in 37 just south of 14 hunting cow elk. We pulled the plug after 2 days of hunting and are on the way home. That fire is a monster and there is no end in sight. Appears that it has crossed the highway and will continue into 37. Yesterday we actually had a spot fire within a half mile...

How many hunting rifles do you have?

Have a handful or two, goal is to kill something with each one. Only have a few that haven't seen blood yet.

    Red dots on riflescopes

Are you referring to red dot attached to the regular scope? If so, sure that comes from tactical shooting. Really has no place in the hunting world other than to get more "likes" on the gram. Maybe it is because they have a too high of a power scope and they can't see nothing but hair at 30 yds.

@Dsnow9, is that tape job just to stabilize your previously injured kneecap, or are there other benefits?

Shank it? or Crank it? Only the Billy knows

That last goat is a hog, horns don't look too impressive, but that may be because he has such a large body? I'd shoot him in a heartbeat as long as he was in a recoverable location. This is the best goat that we found scouting for my Washington hunt. Will be pleased if I can relocate him in...

Solo Elk Hunt in Colorado: Am I About to Embark on a Glorious Disaster?

Go for the experience. Can't learn affectively about how to hunt elk in your easy chair. The curve will be steep, but there is nothing like getting into elk and watching what they do if they are not disturbed. Just be very aware of your distance from the truck/trailhead. Don't just keep...

    Barnes TTSX seating and pressure

Theoretically based on the two rounds pictured, the lower one would have lower pressure IF it is still at least .050" off the lands. That is a big if! I load monos exclusively and have had compressed loads that show pressure signs that I have seated the bullets .025" deeper and the pressure...
