I am probably going on my first DIY elk hunt. I already have a service called ZOLEO I use while offshore fishing. You use your phone to text via their satellite service, similar to an InReach.
Curious if anyone has used this in the mountains in western Wyoming and if it kept signal with the satellites?

I used it in Madagascar in September and had no trouble. Can't imagine anywhere in the CONUS being harder to find a satellite than there.

I used Zoleo last fall in Western Wyoming- I also tried out the iPhone feature. It’s ok but when you know you’re going to be out of service for extended time Zoleo is better. During our trip we had issues with our ATV trailer that required repairs. The Zoleo made it possible for me to give the repair shop a phone number and say “text me at this number”. After that experience I will be keeping the Zoleo.
