WY whitetail advice

Hello,
My son and I are planning our hunts for next year. We will be applying as a party with average 5 points each.

We want to switch it up and use our points for a whitetail, seeing as neither of us have taken one. We are interested in opportunity over trophy quality


I am have started researching, so fair point if that’s your advice, but if anyone has any help in areas to look at, I would appreciate it. I guess I’d like to know areas of the state conducive to truck camping and day hunts. Feel free to PM me. I understand not wanting to note areas on the web.

I have not hunted whitetail in wyoming, but if you want to hunt whitetails specifically you should definitely look into the type 3 (any whitetail) licenses. Quite a few of those have historically been available as a second choice, so you wouldn't even need to burn points. Usually not a lot of public in those units but I'm sure there's enough to have a good hunt if you find the right unit.
