Who else….?

I like vegas but we don’t gamble. I like the Vegas Rodeos, UFC fights, Mint 400 desert race, Hanging out at a nice pool with a waterfall having cocktails enjoying the scenery is fun. The SCI convention last year there was fun. A couple days is good. Too long there and I need to get outta there, though. I don’t particularly like any big cities, really. Vegas can be fun to me, though, in short doses.

Worked in Vegas for 40+ straight days last fall. Soul sucking, but in its defense of vegas and those who make a living there my job sends me to places of the city the people who live there don't see or experience on the day to day. I saw trannys blowing people in abandon carwashes and in my work sites, homeless overdosing, cleaned up needles everyday, got asked for money countless times a day, saw so much trash its unfathomable, got slashed, I could go on. People that live there don't even know half of what goes on in the shadows. Satan's playground!

Only stayed there once in the 80's. We had a bar & back bar and 10 Calley roulette machines in an antique auction. I mostly slept and ate. The other guys went full nuts with Elvis and all. Not my cup of tea.

I stopped twice since for gas heading to UT. Again I ate and then slept in the truck while the boys went to Cabellas and such.

It is another reason I hunt alone now.

I do like the Oceans movies.

There, I saw the fountain. What a waste of resources.

Went there for a conference around 2010 or so. Some good food. Joe's Stone Crab, which my wife loves.

Stayed at the Wynn Tower Suites, don't remember how much we paid but fairly pricey. The only reason that is relevant is that what we remember most was there was no coffee maker in the room. Had to either order room service (slow) or walk through casino to get coffee.

We don't gamble.

Once was more than enough.

Trying to squeeze in a Vegas weekend at the end of a Utah vacation a couple
years ago really ruined the ending vibe of the trip. We should have hit another national park instead. Never need to go back except maybe to the airport.

Isn’t there descent mtb and climbing outside of the city?
Outside of that I have no desire to ever go there.
Seems like a massive waste of money.

I live in Las Vegas. Raised my family here, but I understand your opinions. If your experience is LAS to Las Vegas Boulevard (strip) or Fremont Street, all you'll see is the excesses and weirdness. What you won't see is many really fine people.
Exactly. My Mother in Law lived there for awhile so went there from time to time. Las Vegas is just like any other place if you avoid the Strip. There's a lot of other cities I don't want to go to that don't have the entertainment Vegas has. Makes them even crappier places I guess. mtmuley

I am looking for a cheap flight to Vegas for my wife and I in the next 5-6 weeks . We just want to fly in and rent a vehicle and drive to Utah and visit a few National Parks. I have spent more than my share of time in Vegas in years past and dont have a reason to spend any time there at this time.
