Sorry about posting about boots so much, but here is my last question. If I buy Kenetreks which ones should I buy for pronghorn hunting? The ones I have looked at are:
Hardscrabble Hiker (My Favorite)
Desert Guide
Mountain Extreme Non-Insulated
Mountain Guide NI

Please post about which one I should buy and why. Thanks so much!

I found the mountain guide too stiff. I’ve worn Kenetreks for 12 years I think, almost every day. I haven’t tried the desert guide yet. I bought a pair but they are sitting at home until I’m done in Alaska for the season.

I have three pair of the extremes at home. Old; getting old and new last fall. The older ones I wear daily, new ones get saved for guiding in the fall. They must fit as Mt. Muley stated. I’m 64, been hunting elk in places like Hells Canyon for over 50 years. Kenetreks have added years to my rough ground hunting. Young guys don’t get it but good boots will make a difference when you’re older than dirt.

i have the mountain extremes (non insulated) and have used them for pronghorn, mule deer, and elk hunting in Montana. So, they are useful for everything. I have even used them in SC. Like Salmonchaser said above, boots make a huge difference!!

YUP ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
65 here 2 or 3 times a week for the last 15 years, I'm JUST sending them in for a retired.
There 400 gr insolation. If I did it over I'd get the un insolated for summer.

I like my Mt. Extremes, but if you're buying new boots with pronghorn hunting in mind as the main use, then I'd vote for the Hardscrabble Hiker. Boots are very personal, so I'd certainly go try them on first.

Thank yall for all the info, knowledge, and wisdom! I have bought the Kenetrek Hardscrabble boots. Again thanks!!
