I’m wanting to upgrade my base layers to merino blend this year and I’m having a hard time deciding what weight to go with.
I want a long sleeve shirt (Either zip or hoodie) I can wear next to skin and use as a stand-alone top layer in the heat of the day (85-90 degrees) and then layer on top of for colder weather.
I feel like a 150 weight would be better for the heat, but I worry about it being too fragile. I think the 200 weight would be more durable But might be too warm. I’ve never had merino before.
Also up for suggestions on brand between Kuiu, First Lite, and BlackOvis. BlackOvis doesn’t come in camo or have thumb loops, First Lite Aerowool is supposed to be super comfortable but I hear it isn’t as durable as Kuiu. Kuiu is most expensive but seems to meet all my criteria.
Help me!
