At one time your .270 and 7mm Mag were that new cutting edge….I just don't know how I've been able to kill countless animals with just a plain old .270 and a 7mm Mag over the last 45+ years.
It seems everything nowadays must be taken with whatever the latest and greatest caliber out there.
What is your take on the new 7mm Backcountry?

What is the extra pressure going to do to the suppressor on the end of a short barrel? Quite a few are already limited to some extent on barrel length with magnum cartridges. Might be kind of like threading a 22 rimfire can on a .223.

I’m not even that old and I believe that the 7mm08 is a misunderstood and under utilized cartridge. Everyone needs I’ve ever shoot was fantastic and never let my wife down.

6.8x51/277 Fury was designed for military applications in a semiauto MSR platform. High pressure go fast from 16” barrel. Freakin sweet. When this too can be put into that realm with an upper swap, I’ll see the value of the cartridge.
