Classic! It’s been a few years since I’ve pulled it out, but a number of deer and hogs have fallen to an old Model 99 Savage in .250 Savage my grandfather has. Sweet little rifle.

I've taken two Whitetail bucks with 250 Gr. Barnes Expander MZ over 80 Gr. equivalent of Blackhorn 209, but no cartridge. Those familiar with Illinois know that we can't hunt with a breech loading rifle. The ballistics are similar to the 45-70, but we hunt in the woods anyway. My longest shot was 60 Yards.
