Lady luck smiled upon me earlier this year with a muzzleloader antelope tag for a unit close to home. I spent quite a bit of time on the unit over the summer and couldn’t wait for the hunt to open.

Unfortunately I needed to go into the office on Wednesday and Thursday, so today was my first day to hunt. The whole family was able to witness the craziness of rut crazed buck antelope. I looked over 20 or so different bucks before finding one with the “look” I liked.

I spotted my buck chasing off some smaller bucks and then returning to his bedded does. We cut the distance, stayed downwind and when the buck circled back to tend his does, the hunt was over.

Beautiful buck, and an even more beautiful family. I’m glad that they could share it with you. Congrats!
