I'm more than a little concerned about interactions between 30 million dollar drones and Russian SU-27 fighters.

We need to unleash 300 $100,000 spy balloons instead of 1 $30 million drone. That would keep the Russians busy for months.

Today, the Department of Defense (DoD) announces the authorization of a Presidential Drawdown of security assistance to meet Ukraine’s critical security and defense needs. This authorization is the thirty-fourth drawdown of equipment from DoD inventories for Ukraine since August 2021 and is valued at up to $350 million.

• Ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS);
• 155mm artillery rounds;
• 25mm ammunition;
• High-speed Anti-radiation missiles (HARMs);
• 81mm and 60mm mortar systems and mortar rounds;
• AT-4 anti-armor weapon systems;
• Grenade launchers, small arms, and associated ammunition;
• Demolition munitions and equipment for obstacle clearing;
• Mine clearing equipment;
• Heavy fuel tankers;
• Thermal imagery systems, optics, and laser rangefinders;
• Riverine patrol boats;
• Testing and diagnostic equipment to support vehicle maintenance and repair;
• Spare parts and other field equipment.

Well, Putin has now called for the head of Wagner group and labeled him a traitor to the motherland. Wagner has men moving towards Moscow. If not for thousands of nuclear warheads this would be a fun one to watch. However that is one hell of a “if not for”.

Yesterday someone on Deutsche Welle news mentioned Wagner was likely doing this with approval of the kremlin in order to help keep the military in check. That theory is no longer valid.

Seems like there’s at least 50 movies where the plot involves a rogue general getting his hands on nuclear codes. Now it may be real life.

On the other hand, have to wonder if Ptin panics and starts pressing buttons.

It appears that Wagner group is getting quite a bit support from Russian military or at least being allowed to move through the country without much opposition up to this point.
It’s hard to keep up with the amount of Russian military unit switching sides.

Allegedly, Putin has fled Moscow to St. Petersburg.
Looks like the most up-to-date has Wagner approximately two hours out of Moscow.

If Wagner group creates enough disruption that Putin falls and a more rational oligarch succeeds him, that would be an upgrade. However if the head of the Wagner group actually ended up head of government then we have a whole other level of crazy and risk. He makes Putin look like Dukakis.
