Ukraine / Russia

The adult version of "I'm not touching you, I'm not touching you".
If that’s the case then the solution is easy. Mom needs to declare, “if you don’t behave we are turning this car around and going home” while Dad reaches blindly behind his seat and starts flailing around in the hopes of “knocking some sense into the two of you.”

Losing the debate and switching to jokes and insults.
BHR you are killing me. On one thread you are complaining about gas prices being too high and Biden’s energy policy is the cause. In another thread you complain that severe sanctions on the third largest oil producer in the world weren’t strong enough or fast enough. Com’on man.

I'm not complaining about high gas prices. The young working class, Californians, and fixed income are complaining about high gas prices. I am telling you why they are high. Again, Ray Charles saw this coming.

Since this board does have a sizable Montana flavor, I'll link what our esteemed congressman did on a vote yesterday. It was a resolution supporting the Ukrainian people in the wake of the Russian invasion.
Time honored Montana vote #JeanetteRankin

It was about getting Europe on board because they will pay the steepest price for sanctions. Even after the invasion Germany didn’t initially want to go to the severity we see now.
Tried to wake them up but they didn't want to hear about it. So here we are.

I know you guy's won't listen to it, but he was right.

Yup - lots of folks have been worrying about EU dependence on Russian oil for many years - including back to when Trump was fighting over golf courses in Scotland.

Similarly, US buying oil from middle east hasn’t helped there either.

Go way back and Japanese dependence on US oil played a big role in the years leading up to Pearl Harbor.

But when you have to run viable complex economies life is not always simple or straightforward.

Yeah, he was right, but he wasn’t “waking everyone up”. Everyone knew that was the case. It was the case before he came to office. He was briefed before the dinner as to the situation and regurgitated it in front of the cameras. It was a strategic bet on Germany’s part. It didn’t turn out so well.

It's simple when you are an elite.😉
