When I used to archery hunt moose in the fall we would see several grouse ! We didn't want to waste arrows on them and they would just sit there as you approached. We found that if you hit them in the head with a rock it resulted in no lost arrows and a good meal lol Can't say it made me feel like a caveman though !!
