I initially missed this thread, but the catching up has been riveting. Gumption in buckets. Good luck on the rest of this season!

Some will say getting your meat processed isn’t worth it or they like to do it themselves. Lucas over at the meat cleaver in denver does amazing work, and is a great guy to boot! I was out of town for the last two weeks and get back to a big load of meat. All prepared and ready to throw in the freezer.

I forgot a cooler but only live five minutes away so not a big deal.

I got home and had some help unloading the truck!

How many pounds total after processing?

I was adamant about saving the money… until the baby came. Ugh. I’m thoroughly enjoying paying someone to do it now.

I’m not gonna plug my processor because they can get pushed out on drop off availability quick.

But, if there is a choice between dropping 450 bucks on a processor and doing it yourself so you can buy another NR elk tag next year the choice is obvious.

honestly, I’m not positive. I’ll look into it. I was against it. I don’t like lamb. Wife really likes it and it’s good for her blood type or something like that. My MIL has a close high-school friend that raises them and I was not part of the purchase or transaction. I don’t see the point in purchasing an animal when I have a freezer full of them.

I’ll pm you the last name at least but I’m not sure which of their properties the animal came from.

Just giving you a hard time. I like to ask that question when the opportunity arises, just to get people thinking.
