The Nuge Speaks ..... again.

Tom,

Can you explain how hunters in Texas, who everyone on here admits the majority of them know little to nothing about hunting on public lands, can be trusted allies at the ballot box for those of us who recreate and hunt on public lands?

In must of my discussions with Texans they have little regard for public lands in general and a dislike of anything owned by the government in particular. That is not a judgement as to whether they are good people or not but rather the fact that we can't count on Texas hunters to help protect public lands at the ballot box because the vast majority have zero understanding of public lands. So all those numbers of hunters don't do much of us any good when it comes to public lands issues.

That is not an anti Texas statement, just a reflection of the fact that the vast majority of Texas hunters will never set foot on a single square foot of public land to hunt at any point in their lives.

So please do exercise your right to vote but that has little to do with protection of public lands.
