Teej's 2019 Fall Extravaganza

Catching up on this.... met some HTer's on Saturday, @neffa3 and @JLS, some great guys and one helluva dog JLS has! Next time I'm thinking about loading down neffa w/ some rocks in his vest to slow em up. I've never seen a wild mountain goat but pretty sure I came as close as I could watching that guy trek those breaks haha

Great day and some good fun! However we really slacked on the pictures.... I think all in all we killed 8 or 9 birds and easily saw over a hundred.

Next day I decided to give it a shot as on the chukars at a new spot as I was all revved up from the day before and well.... it didn't go as intended. We hiked, and climbed, and hiked and climbed... to no avail. Either way it was some awesome country and another place I'll cross off, just oing to keep putting X's on locations till I find these darned things.

Went to look for some ducks, shot a teal, boomer had an awesome find as i winged it and it sailed 150-200yds into the high prairie grass. We did some grid searching for about 20min and bam he turned it up!

Decided not to end the day there, flushed 3 hens and FINALLY had our first rooster flush and here I was caught dumbfounded on the wrong side of a big tree/bush and well the rooster is still safe and sound. It was funny b/c we were leaving and I heard the rooster cackle in a general direction and I knew the field he was in backed up to a creek. I was like I bet we can find that, 30min later Boomer flushed him haha

The last one sums up mine and Boomer's current chukar season (we found it dead).

Well I finally got it done! My first ever chukar killed with Boomer and to supplement it my wife got her first as well. We shoulda had more but I had some gun malfunctions. All in all we flushed over 10 covey's and saw a group of Rams, a bald eagle and jumped a golden eagle feasting.

Boomer had a phenomenal retrieve on my bird. I shot it at the top, it coasted 200yds over 100' in elevation down into the valley. He marked it like it had a tracking device and was all over it with no corrections.

Big shout out to @neffa3 for the hookup
