If the Government went to A Flat Tax it would be the MOST fair I think. Until then, Write off everything you can and let the poor pay tax's

Right on Moosie! the Flat Tax is the only "fair" way to tax the masses, its a pay as you go system, and could/would eliminate almost all of the i.r.s. and a whole industry [H.&.R block etc.] that only exists because of countless pages of bullshit tax code!

I think a 15% WACK of everything you make could go to Feds, 8% go to State. then there is NO question's.

And that's including more than $150 billion that Bush will take from the "Social Security surplus," instead of investing it to cover part of the nation's coming Social Security crisis.

Tax breaks are great now, but eventually someone will have to pay.

Give me some facts to contradict it, ElkGunner. I checked it on Urban Legends, Truth or fiction.com, etc. Do you know how much Bush paid versus how much Kerry paid in income taxes? I'm sure you can look it up if you want...

Without itemized deductions, I'd pay a whole lot more income tax! I still pay more now than I made in the late 70s...

A flat tax of about 15% would make more sense.

I think that we should adopt a policy of taxing poor people. If you make under 20,000 a year you should pay a 25% tax. If you make over 20,000 a year tax a flat 10%. While we are at it, we should completely do away with welfare except for cases that truly need it. If you have ever ridden a small bus with black windows you would qualify. Everyone else will be eliminated. By doing this you will have millions of folks who are forced to get off their asses and go to work and make a decent living on their own. More people working, more revenue for the government.

Hey Buzz,

Did I tell you I am now a "Fire fighter"? yeppers, I started last October. Been a "Fire fighter" for 10 months now....

The only thing I have trouble with is the fact that I never get called to go work. But that doesn't stop me from calling myself a fire fighter...

Lemme see if I can find some pictures of trees that I have cut down... I know I have the one we cut down last December..... About 8 feet tall, nice fir....

I've been a sawyer since last December!

The trouble with my sawyer career is, I'm kind of worried about being taxed to death...and also my back cuts.

I wanted to be a sawyer, as the extra $0.50 an hour would be pretty sweet. But I am not sure if I could get certified. I know my back cuts are better than others who are sawyers, but just not sure if I would pass the written part of the testing, where you have to spell T_I_M_B_E_R!!!
