I'll be sure to. I have a few days before my rings and scope arrive, so that will give me time to decide what I want to do.

Talleys came in today so I fished around for the lightest scope I own, a 4x32 Swift (8.9 oz.), took off the iron sights, mounted the scope and put it on the scale. 7 lbs. 1 oz. with the cleaning rod on board. The scope I intended for this rifle is a 2-7x33 Leupold (10.5 oz.) but the little Swift has served me well on muzzleloaders in the past so I'll give it a go on the Knight and see how she does. It's usually more than adequate for anything inside of 200 yards. Off to the range tomorrow. Hopefully a few cloverleaf groups will help me stop daydreaming about that elusive 6.5 lb. muzzleloader setup.

Can you find the 9oz in expendable gear you're carrying to offset the extra you're unhappy with from this muzzleloader purchase? You and everyone here will be happier. Just a thought.

I can, but I don't carry that expendable gear in my hands all day. It's in my pack (or not). As for the rest of your post, I get that not everyone counts ounces. I and many others do though. And a $1600 gun advertised to weigh 6 lbs. should in fact, weigh 6 lbs. Do you not agree?

Not really. Perhaps you have. Others here agree that a $1600 gun should live up to its billing.

Send it back to them I find it funny you got it half off but keep acting like you forked over the 1600 dollars. Most firearms are advertised this way and when you go into the specs on them they list actual weights sorry you read the numbers and quit at the letters

I understand your frustration. It’s not exactly what you understood to be buying. My experience with my Knight Mountaineer is that it’s a super reliable, well made piece of gear. It’s heavy and a pain to clean. But what I love about it is this, I don’t have to fool with it. I have never even changed my load. I shoot it once, it’s dead nuts on, I clean it, load it, and go out and shoot critters, who never go far. It just flat out works. I hope it serves you well.

I had a Ruger 77/50, which was a very well refined, superbly made piece of equipment (it was my first ML and only now do I appreciate how well made it was). It had a similar breech plug assembly. I shot Triple 7 out of it and would pull that plug after every range session and clean it, along with the bore, chamber and threads. Got to be a habit I guess. Is that what you've always done with your Knight? Any other advice for break-in or other routine maintenance?

The plunger style gun doesn’t work well with bh 209 you’ll wanna stick with the 777

So instead of needlessly insulting people, let's get back to the topic at hand. Why did you say the plunger style gun doesn't work well with BH 209? Is that the experience people are having with Knight rifles? As I said, I plan to move back to Triple 7 but I am intrigued by your claim that plunger guns don't work well with BH 209.
