What work were you doing on the island?

I was assisting with a project that is trying to determine the status of coldwater fishes in the inland lakes using environmental DNA + setting DO/Temp loggers that will be collected next spring.

Hazy Rocky Mountain Front

Attempting to escape the smoke, we travelled to upper Teton River and hiked up Clary Coulee to view the dramatic Rocky Mountain Front sheer face down to the Montana plains.
The views were spectacular, but the smoke moved the haze over plains and up the mountains.

My daughter passed hunters education today.

Her classes were given in Yannone Auditorium at FWP’s Montana Wild Center. Named after the legendary Montana wildlife educator and biologist, Vince Yannone. Vince is still a resident of Clancy, and to bring things full circle - he was one of the instructors at my own hunters education class at Clancy Elementary 30 years ago.
