The very odd slow start to winter this week. Last year the lake was completely frozen over a month earlier.


There are some pictures and and questions that drove me to a position to take this photo. I just posted it in the Pictures/Camera action while being outdoors....thread if you want a little more reason what caused the entertainment for this pic.

Alluding hunters would be easy... I have a feeling only the real dumb ones get shot in this spot.

My father lives in the western part of the state, surrounded by state forest. Its been 10-15 years but a local shot a 200 class whitetail that never had been seen.
Just sayin.

100% believe it, a deer that is predisposed to caution with decent genetics has the opportunity to get really old here on public land. Low hunter numbers, and plenty of room to live out it's life unmolested.
