i wish someone had just smacked at the mention of "paver patio"

We live in a duplex and share a yard... got some new neighbors recently, I told them they can do whatever they want with the yard.

All I can say is the pumpkins and tomatoes are doing awesome, and hydrangea are gorgeous.

Say what you will about their .pdf skills, boomers are industrious.

i just keep breaking my own rules and randy's own rules. i can't seem to stop. i (literally) keep diggin myself deeper. i haven't done anything besides working on my backyard landscaping with every spare hour for nearly 3-4 weeks straight now (i've hardly had any spare hours to begin with). i finish sprinkler system, and edging, and rock, nearly ready for grass and path building, BUT then i go and say "hey i've got an idea, let's put a goddamn 130 square foot paver patio over there for all the grills and chit"

someone please drive over here, smack (punch) me in the face, teach (force) me to use angie's list and let me do something else again with my life.

eff this crap. i have a new bow that needs to get tuned and shot, and i should be running every day.

lucky for me the HOA will be on my ass if stuff doesn't get finished.

i will provide finished pics to prove how terrible i am at this crap. tho i will say, my sprinkler system has some oomph. maybe one day it will water grass.

Hah! I would hire almost anybody I could get to show up! We're so far from anything that fuel costs would be more than wages. PLUS, nobody actually wants to do manual labor anymore. The last guy that helped me complained I pushed to hard. He was around half my age.

Darn near in the middle of Hell Hole Swamp. Thought I better get a night in before summer. Although it was 92 yesterday, it actually magically cooled off to 68 last night in the swamp.

Not a place for arachnophobes. These guys were all over, about one per square yard that I could see. No telling how many I didn't see. Carolina Wolf spider, the largest wolf spider in North America at almost 1.5" long. Looked like beautiful little emeralds under the flashlight, scattered all over the ground. Their eyes do that.



BTW, that's the same log I ate supper on. Had to shoo that little lady off of the log so I would have a place to sit.

I have to pass over a covert on the way to the farm So this is a pic of the covered.. My son does duck hunting down here during the season. I've got to mow to hunt. Small price to pay for exclusive rights and access to the barn.

My daughter got bit or stung by an insect on Thursday night while camping with her mother. Didn't hurt, she said, took some benadryl and was back to normal by morning. My brother felt bad for her and took her to a small animal sale today and bought her the miniature Billy goat she has been wanting for awhile.
