After a long 48 hour swing at work I really wanted to run hounds today. Alas I have to go back into work at 6pm so it would be cutting it close. Hounds go out tomorrow.
I could either watch the President get impeached again or go squirrel hunting. I chose the later.

Nice! I'm having a squirrel problem right now. I've never had problems finding them before, but I've tried to take my son squirrel hunting twice lately and no squirrels. Not even a flicking tail in the trees. Our local bushytails are all quarantining, apparently.

Nice area. I've not spent much time there, but used to bird hunt at Partridge Run when I was a kid and lived in the Catskills for a couple of years in my 20's. Good hunting down that way.

Spent some time around the holidays chasing squirrels. Picked out some new to me pieces of USFS ground and gave it a go. I need to do more of this...

I just got a new scope for my .22, thanks @schmalts. I hope do be putting it to good use on some squirrels after archery season closes at the end of the month.

Sometimes we get so caught up with Big game we forget where we came from. I love small game hunting. Running my dogs and shooting rabbits is as much fun or more than any big game hunt there is.

I hunted squirrels quite a bit this year. Got a few here and there and eventually got enough for a good fry.
As usual, though, I was covered up with them while deer hunting! The orange seems to make them curious.
Maybe I'll start wearing my orange hat for squirrels, too.
