As mthuntr points out very validly, most people will not form an educated opinion. It is way to east to click on a form letter and fire it off.
Part of what makes the United States great is our foundational principles that guarantee equal rights to everyone, regardless of their educational level, financial means, religion, etc. That is to say, some folks may be incredibly passionate about an issue, but perhaps not confident enough in their ability to articulate their thoughts in a way that doesn’t undermine their argument or position. I’d venture to guess this is why MOGA has paid representatives and lobbyists, because they either don’t have the time, or don’t see themselves as being otherwise equipped to handle their own lobbying and advocating.
