I thought it went good and was proud. Unfortunately I think the message was confusing I've had people telling me they thought it was pro transfer. Ktvb's coverage was confusing to some.

“We think that the state can do a much better job. We want to caution that we’re not in favor of privatizing the land. No one on our side is saying take access away. We’re all from Idaho,” said John Thompson, director of public relations for the Idaho Farm Bureau. “We support the right to hunt and fish and do all those things people love to do. We don’t want to limit that. We think that these environmental groups that have stirred this up are supporting that position; we think that’s wrong.”

You wouldn't have found them.

Zero of the GOP politicians showed up. Here was a chance for someone to step up, be a leader, and make sure this is not a partisan issue, and they all passed. Even Otter, who has now came out in support of the Feds keeping the lands, didn't come out, make a speech, and leave a legacy similar to Frank Church and Cecil Andrus as supporting what is great about Idaho.

That goes to the new "talking point" of "Access" being the clarion call instead of "transfer", and the only way for "access" is to transfer the lands from the Feds....


We need to keep pointing out that Access does not equal Management.
