Interesting listen. I met VG in the 80's in BC. I have his books on elk & deer. I believe in his basic beliefs in science & observation. NACM.

I guess I'm more ignorant than I thought. I did not even know he was still alive.
What is quite controversial about him?
I mean besides him still sounding like a German when he has lived in the west so long.
That I always found odd.
I knew many ex-pats from Germany post WWII growing up and they all learned to speak without the German accents and habits.

I did some digging and I guess his game market ideas are controversial and most likely dumb. And he's a Ruskie not germanic like I thought. A Ukrainian by birth,so this is where the crazy ideas come from.IMHO
But he is still the smartest guy talking about ungulates there is,in my opine.
I know little of modern researchers & scholars on the subjects I admit.
