Scammer Scum - Beware

To my knowledge I was never hacked!
Either you were hacked or you were trying to scam me from this WTB ad. I asked Cushman to call you as he said he had your #.
All the pics were from “your camp” even though they were copy / pasted from the Davis website.

What's the best way to report suspicious activity? Anything other than the report button on the message board?

Just used that to report a suspicious contact.

I signed up because I'm tryng to make a purchase, and so far the feedback I'm seeing aren't so satisfying. Now I'm scared and having double minds

I nothing related to me in your link…

This guy screwed over a HT member. He is a scammer and I did a bunch of checks on him from our admin software. One of his many emails came up as reported to be a scammer on other shooting sites.

Do not do any business with him. @FEl0T you're multiple IPs and your multiple emails are now in the forum spammer/scammer tracking system we subscribe to. I hope somebody gets their hands on your sorry ass.

And, when you are doing any sales/purchases, on this forum or any other forum, don't do the communication just via PM unless you know the person. Make sure you get an email and phone number. Do a quick Google search of that email address and that user name. Odds are, if they're a scammer, they've done it before on other sites and it will come up.Check it out thoroughly.

Also, look at their number of posts and the date they joined. If they are a new arrival, they might be here to scam. I get notifications if they are in the spammer/scammer database we subscribe to, but they're professional crooks, so they get pretty creative in ways to avoid detection and hide.

Get a rope!
Thanks for the heads up!

Almost got scammed by @Farmer20 on a want to buy add for a remington 7600. I almost sent payment, but the “venmo purchase protection” wasn't an option. I thought it was curious so I asked if he would take a phone call, he said he was deaf. He also sent me photos directly off a google search. What a piece of trash trying to steal $850.

Glad you figured it out before! I wasn't so smart!

@Farmer20 is now gone.

If anyone gets scammed, please let us know. We pay $200 per month to be part of a database that notifies us of known scammers. We also report our scammers/spammers to that database.

If they use an email, IP address, or username that has been reported to the database as a scammer, their registration gets sent to a folder where I have to manually approve/reject their registration. I don't even look at their account. I just reject everyone of them.

Yet, these folks are wising up. They are changing their usernames, using VPNs, and setting up dummy email addresses. Yet, they almost always have some sort of pattern to how they choose their usernames and email addresses. The spammer software is now using AI to identify those who are likely scammers/spammers.

I reject anywhere from 3-10 of these, per day. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I had a rifle for sale here for months. It didn't sell so back in the safe. I got a PM from a member here I'd never heard of saying a guy he knows from another forum is interested in my rifle. Kinda suspicious but I played along. The unknown guy sends me an email. I asked him to send me a pic of his drivers license alongside his current utility bill. Almost immediately he sent me a pic of his DL, utility bill and a copy of his CC permit as well as his FFL transfer guys info. The short story is the rifle ships today and if someone is legit they have no problem sending any reasonable information that you ask for.

I’d walk away from a transaction before I’d sent a pic of my drivers license to someone I don’t know. Glad your transaction seems to have worked out Redmt.

I don't blame you. He had to be reasonably sure that I wasn't a scammer before he sent it. I would not have sent him a copy of my DL first as he was the unknown. If he had been familiar to me , I wouldn't have asked for ID
