Recently, a report was published about what the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) has done for Montana. A similar report could have been done for most any western state and the benefits LWCF has provide. It is the program for us public land hunters.
Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation has been pushing Congress for reauthorization. They are making the same call again today.

If you want to see the report RMEF is referencing, go to this link. Lots of good stuff done by LWCF here in Montana. As it has done in many other states.

When September 30 rolls around, hopefully Congress will have come to its senses and decided to do something to keep this program going. The pessimist in me worries they will just keep collecting the money and divert it to their pet projects. The optimist in me says that Beltway naysayers have spent their wad in this debate and are about to get their political teeth handed to them.
