I will have 8pp next year for Wyoming deer. I am 64yo, nonresident and want to use up my points on a mule deer hunt. Do I have to pick a region or can I just pick a unit that requires alot of points to draw? Can I archery hunt and if unsuccessful come back with a rifle? Im looking at a couple areas that are within a couple hours of my archery elk hunt and try to combine the hunts. A week elkn and then chase muleys. thanx in advance.

There are two types of tag categories general and limited quota tags. General tags are drawn by region. Limited quota are unit specific. Yes, in the vast majority of units you can archery hunt and then return for rifle in unsuccessful.

Yes you can rifle hint after bow season, IF you didn't get the bow specific tag (note, not sure deer has that option, elk does)

As for your other question, use the hunt planner on the wgf site. Plug in deer and the area, it will show you tag options

Get a wooby or quilt for the blind. Keep your legs covered if you don't have a heater.

Patience is a virtue. Boredom is a guarantee.

Good luck!
