recession?

Defend Trump all you want but that truly was a dick post bashing a fellow Hunt Talkers previous posts about their own mental health.
I guess we have different definitions of what bashing someone means. I vocalized an observation. I didn't say anything bad about him or any mental illnesses. I have cousins with mental illnesses, I know what they go through, and I wouldn't say anything bad about it.

Feel free to cuss me out again and get us both banned.

Sorkin is an angry, toxic, unhinged guy. Yet he has made quite a good living in this awful place called America!
I don't think the point of that scene is that America is awful though. The point is just that America used to be better than it is today and that while we were once the top dog in the world, that just isn't the case anymore.

One example of our 2nd World status, absolutely relevant to any discussion of our economy and politics:
Of the world's 33 industrialized countries, 32 have universal health care, with the United States being the notable exception.

The part that I like the most of that scene is at the very end where he gives his opinion on the "why". "because we were informed...by great men, men who were revered".

Think about the people of influence and doing the informing. Think about some of those people in the 20th century. People like Cronkite, JFK, MLK, FDR, Einstein, Muhammad Ali, Neil Armstrong, Jordan, Monroe. People grew up wanting to be exactly like them. Think about the influence today: Biden...Trump...Pelosi...Blitzer...Holt...Rogan...Kardashian...Musk...Lebron...Rodgers... Are any of them "revered status"?

What country would you rather live in right now, if given the choice?
That is a fantastic question and I honestly couldn't personally give a much informed response. Based on some metrics I could probably pick one but I have personally ever visited 4 other countries - Canada, France, Argentina and Switzerland. All were fantastic places to visit but I'm not informed enough to know if living in any of those places would provide me a better life than here.

Ukra- I mean Russ-- no...
Austr--- wait, they have stupid gun laws...

Moving to Africa and become a PH and guide hunters. Fun thought, but I don't actually want to live in Africa.

I don't think there's a better place to reside than the US.

In life's lottery, you got lucky where you were born.
