A sad state for many that have lost their homes and possessions. Thoughts to all the families.

Hope structures are threatened by that one, but I do enjoy watching junipers die a hot, firey death...I took this photo at 2:30 this afternoon at work, of a small smoke plume in the distance.
And by the time I drove home at 7:00 pm it had become the Pine Ridge Fire.

Wow!! I was wondering if anyone has heard where donations can be sent? I am not a huge fan of the Red Cross, but thats another story for another time. I am talking about clothing, food, everyday essentials. I know that our church is overflowing with all of the above and would be glad to help out.
Bambistew, yeah, I know...reality sucks.
Dont get me wrong, I feel horrible that people are losing their homes, nobody should have to go through things like that. The sad part is, they dont have to lose their homes if they would have been prepared, cooperated, and been proactive in management.
But, its tough for me to feel sorry for people that ignore the facts that they basically live in a desert, prone to high winds, in areas that have had fire suppression for 100+ years, with trees on the side of their house, surrounded by public lands that they wont allow thinning or fuel reduction to happen.
I also dont feel sorry for people that build in 100 year flood plains and then lose their houses to a flood...I do feel bad for them though.
I dont know, its like this...I dont feel sorry for someone that smokes 2 packs a day for 25 years and gets lung cancer. I feel sorry for some 12 year old kid who, through no fault of their own, gets cancer...
Make sense?
