Plate ‘em up

My Grandma made the best fried chicken too and is equally missed. This was good but it wasn't Granny's. Doesn't help that any recipe she had she didn't write down. It was always a "little bit of ____ and a splash of ____." All by memory.
Ingredients and amounts don’t matter with grandma’s cooking. Made with too much love for ingredients to matter.

I love my smoker but it's 20 degrees with 22mph sustained wind 40+ gust blowing snow. So the oven was used for dinner tonight. Wife found a smaller standing rib roast on sale about half the price per pound I paid before Christmas. Cooked it a little closer to medium as the wife thought the last one was a bit to rare.20250105_141049.jpg20250105_162027.jpg20250105_170316.jpg

@Redmt gets mad at some of my pics so he probably shouldn't look. 😉 I used some of my dad's logic tonight. He said when you're at a potluck you should eat dessert first. That way you know you can have what you want before it's gone! So, tonight's dinner is dessert. Marie Callender apple pie still warm from the oven topped with Tillamook apple crisp ice cream. Oh, hell yeah!
