Aren’t you way up in eastern mt? Just cuz it sucks there don’t mean it sucks everywhere. lol if you dislike Montana and don’t value what Montana is about gtfoh?

That's a good metaphor. Seems like it. And seems like you don't even have the population data to know just how bad the knock out blows are each time.
It also sucks in southeastern Montana. It also sucks in central Montana. Guess it might be awesome in western Montana. Please spread the word so the heat can come off eastern Montana
I guess I don’t value piss pounding mule deer into the ground and a war on elk. Should I get out?

Last year I saw a 130” 4 point mule deer in the dark somewhere between winnett and Jordan . He had to be 30” tall but it was hard to tell in the dark . He should be huge this year . Hunt the highway between those 2 towns . No one else does

Like I said man, if you think Montana sucks so bad, we could do with a few less people..
Luckily I’d be able to “come home to hunt” and slam me a 2.5 year old deer.

Long thread and I didn't read a lot of it. Did get from the first post, I think, the guy want's something to make his Eastern whitetail look small. Well maybe it's there and maybe not. While living in Lakeside, Montana years ago, some guy stopped in with a deer under a tarp. Saw the antler's and they were absolutely huge! But I've never seem anything near that in the wild. Some get really big but most do not. Down in Virgina as a kid I saw some whitetail mounts that were also huge. At the time I though I'd like to hunt there, I've grown up since then. Those huge racks in any kind of deer are really hard to come by! And for body size it seems to me the bigger deer are the eastern whitetail! A big mule deer here in Central Oregon might go 150#. Biggest I ever got weighed 215 hanging with the head and hide off. Pretty big but not huge. Matter of fact I'd call it the exception, not the rule!
Growing up I was always under the impression that mule deer were much bigger than whitetails. Well no more. Lived on Long island in new York till I was 17 then moved back to Oregon. Lived in Colorado, Montana, Alaska since then and can say that the average deer anywhere is much smaller than you might think. deal is about all we hear about are the monster's people get, not the average kill; just doesn't make a good ending to a story! Over the years we've had some really nice bucks come into town during the rut but they are seldom seen during hunting season. I believe the reason is most hunter's don't go out hunting for the really big one's, they go hunting and if a really big one comes along, take it. And the guys that do get the really big one are truely hunter's with a few luck peddlers thrown in. Ran into a guy years ago coming out of the mountains on horse back near the John Day River. He was looking for a big buck and not finding it and said the last day he was going to take a fork horn. I suspect he took a fork horn. I recall reading about, I think his name was Gates. Long time ago and my memory is bad. he was a trophy hunter. He'd said he rather go home with nothing that a small animal. He did what he called counting coup. He'd stalk an animal and if it didn't measure up, he dry fired at it and counted coup!

This is me watching that preference point I bought last year disappearing into the ether because I didn't apply this year lol.
I have decided I am not buying one this year either. The next time I go hunting in SE Montana it will probably be for something with feathers.

I get it dude, you don’t like the states management practices, the game sucks, the people and growth sucks, seemingly the state as a whole, sucks to you guys. THAT SUCKS! lol I think there are a lot of folks who still love it here, and I think just like Facebook there’s a group of you fellers that kinda just like to fight with people who don’t think it sucks…. I don’t think it sucks here. But we know you don’t care what I think, do ya bud? It just sounds all too familiar to me. #NotMyMontana..

Montana is a beautiful place one of the best places on earth …. I love it . But the hunting there right now , specifically deer hunting sucks , the FWP couldn’t manage a 1 car parade proven time and time againI get it dude, you don’t like the states management practices, the game sucks, the people and growth sucks, seemingly the state as a whole, sucks to you guys.
