Fair point. If the Dems want to regain their credibility, they should join in wholeheartedly in the process and start bringing to light areas where perhaps the Repubs are a little less than fully transparent. If between the two the USG can carve out half the waste the Repubs ID and half what the Dems ID, the US taxpayer will be far better off. Then we can have the debate about what the remaining priorities are. Alas, that is likely way too much to expect.

Congressman Simpson (R) ID is the only person to begin to speak out about how not hiring seasonal employees would affect the surrounding economies.

If you live in a gateway community or even a rural state with National Parks, they have an outsized effect on the economy. It will be interesting to see the fallout if they can’t open/operate.

These people only function via crisis mode, because, you know, its all about efficiency. Summer season is still a few months away.

Of the House, yes. Not the Senate and not the White House. But as I said before, the current zeal for DOGE activities rings hollow from those that have been there for years/decades. The political right are being pushed by 47 and the election response that made him #47. If you are a Republican and you want any hope of re-election, you toe the line until the results are positive or the cost of bucking 47 is minimal. Whether you agree with his motivations or not, he is shaking up the establishment. Or at least that is the appearance to those of us on the outside watching the show. Whether the end result is good or bad remains to be seen. As others have stated in this thread, it is way too early to judge the results. Lots of broken eggs; we will have to wait to see what the cake looks like.
