I never knew how popular big government was amongst the people.

Sorry, I can't let this one lie.

This is a broad-brushed stroke that fits a narrative but nothing more.

Am I a fan of big government? It's not a yes or no answer because there is a lot of missing context. I don't want government just for the sake of government. However, there are things the government does I highly value. Like protecting the environment, providing some level of economic safety net for folks who've lost jobs, health, etc. I value public lands. I value a strong and well-prepared military. I value providing medical care for those who've served in the military.

Does all this mean I am opposed to efficiency and providing the best service possible? Absolutely not. And I think this should be a continued push in ALL government entities. However, if you have a tumor in your wrist, do you want the surgeon to use a scalpel or a chainsaw? Because that is what I see happening here.

The 3400 folks are were your future USFS employees. I don't know what role they were slated for. If you are completely against the USFS, then this talk ends here. But I suspect you are not. So is this good or bad? Were they the folks slated to rebuild an access bridge to your favorite area? Slated to develop a timber sale? Slated to do work that may prevent an ESA listing?

This continued push for private sector services also baffles me. I've seen private corporations provide terrible service. Sometimes, it takes years, if not decades, for businesses to either provide better service or get bought out. I don't buy into the implied narrative all of the real or perceived governmental inefficiences and service issues will magically get solved by privatization. In addition, there is real value in continuity and stability in services.

At the end of they day, many government employees are still just common folks, trying to do their best work and support their families. They are part of the local community and economy just like everyone who works for a private entity. The small town economic losses might sting more than a little.

TLDR version of this is: your statement is BS and fails to account for a lot of nuance and context. Take that for what you will.

I dont totally disagree, but i say again 25 days. I'm not gonna light my own hair on fire yet. Some of you it seems wake up at crack of dawn scouring the news to come to HT and make the fire white man sized with no end results even beginning to take shape. I'm not gonna sit here and join in with the acting like the world is ending (which is what the people in charge want you to act like btw) because government is currently getting a much needed enema an enema it's needed since FDR. Things move incredibly slow in government and if this winds up being a disaster it won't have much affect over just a 4 year span. So acting like a total political lunatic for either side does nothing except make one look like a total political lunatic. Also acting like government employees that lose their jobs have no skills and no ability to find other employment is ridiculous, it sucks big balls and I feel for them but their kids aren't going to starve to death unless they sit on their rear ends and pout about what happened to them. Both my grandparents lost jobs because of places like tile factories, bakeries, glass plants, lumber yards, etc closing their doors on them. Didn't starve to death, didn't lose the farm, and didn't lose the house. They did however find other employment and continued living a blessed life. In closing if you want to act like your hair is on fire 25 days into a term like Maxine Watters does good for those people that do, but I think it's stupid and makes them look like propaganda sponges.

PS. I'm on the HT record stating what Trump is doing has potential to not turn out well at all, but idk yet cause ya know that whole 25 days thing.

This post just proves what I heard someone say recently, and in spades, "there's just a lot of shitty people on planet earth".

I hope you have some serious, serious introspection about this post. Truly.
@Hilljackoutlaw The fact you think it’s funny is even worse. I am truly mortified.

It’s one thing to have a verbal mix up with someone. It’s quite another to mockingly toss out “prayers” in a pejorative manner, when you profess to believe in Jesus.

I pray for buzz everytime he calls me a name or quotes me. Its just what I do. They are sincere.
