Past the barb - Lets see em

I've got hooked a couple times growing up. The last time I was maybe 14-15 and my brother and I were fly fishing and I was standing behind at what I thought was a safe distance and he hook the fly right in the back of my head.. He wouldn't stop laughing at me so I wore out his back with my flyrod.

This happened in Canada last year. What I learned: Your hide is tougher than you think. When pushing it through, it helps to start a hole from the top side with another hook. I am glad it was me and not one of my kids.

I got one in the ear about 20 years ago and I looked at my dad and said, "I need a little help here". Now we were in remote northern Ontario, hours and hours from a medical facility of any kind. He took one look and I still remember his words and actions. He said, "I don't want to get involved." AND TOOK ANOTHER CAST! I still chuckle about it to this day. Not quite as funny at the time, but we were soon laughing.

These grizz popped out about 50 yards away; the boys, fishing for Sockeye, We’re distracted. The bears weren’t impressed.
