OnX Hunt Research Tools

I agree with everyone else in saying that the research tools now are crap compared to toprut before. The filters are limited and it is not a streamlined program like it used to be. There may be a lot of people switch over to go hunt from this if they don't fix it.

OnX is truly a mapping company that has a hunting map application. It is clear their focus has been adding to their product line with backcountry, off-road and now fishing.

Randy was smart to align to with GoHunt as it is a better product suite.

After seeing how bad the Onx research tools were I bought a subscription to Hunterstrailhead. Simple website to use, cheap, and easy to see draw odds
Do you guys give feedback to them in the feedback box? I have found some issues but not enough to spend more money on another service. The bottom line is these services are only aggregating data from the State agencies and presenting them in a more user-friendly way.

Hunterstrailhead is $35 not a lot of money

I get it, but the website looks like it was created by a middle schooler and it doesn't give me any example of what I am getting for the $35. Like I said, I think the OnX stuff is fine. Perfect? No. Not as good as Gohunt. Just asking for more info from those complaining to make sure I'm not missing something. I made the determination ago that I either had to deal with OnX going through the learning curve on draw odds or GoHunt going through the learning curve on maps mobile app.

Do you have both? Would be interesting to hear a comparison. I can download lidar files from the USGS and load them to Google earth, but the process takes a lot of time…so I’m lazy. ;)
I haven’t tried it personally but have a couple friends that use it. They seem to like it.

I’m a hunters trailhead user. Whenever I’ve seen any issues I email and he usually has it fixed within the day.

All states? Odds for cow tags?
I used to have a Hunters Trailhead subscription and I liked the interface. My recollection is the data is good for states like Utah, Wyoming, Colorado (mostly) with "simple" drawing systems where they look at everyone's 1st choice before going to 2nd choices, etc. But for NM, NV, and AZ it's more complicated and you really have to run drawing simulations to get odds, which is what gohunt and onX/Toprut are doing.

Don't recall if they had cow hunt data.
