Caribou Gear Tarp

Only in Missoula, Montana

I'm not in favor of cutting criminals any slack either, I'd just like the justice system to use more common sense when defining "crimes". I've seen you advocate the same as it relates to game laws/regs (i.e.- cat hunting quotas, anterless seasons). The fact that an act or substance is illegal should not be the definition in deciding whether it should be illegal.

Keep in mind, I'm not defending the zero that this article is written about... it sounds like the type of neighbor I'd call the cops on in a heartbeat. All this time I've spent thinking and pontificating on the subject of a substance I will never try would have been better suited catching bluegill and crappie... also a fact you cannot argue.;)

Ditto Smalls comment. Everyone understands it is currently illegal. I have to enforce this and do without question... it IS against the law. As anything, laws change, modify, adjust... This is one - like alcohol, that should be reversed, IMO.

Unless it is for Medical reasons it should be illegal. Candy ass drug dealer or users just keep fostering a belief that what they sell or use is ok. Is it OK when this crap and ideology lands in your child's bedroom? Fry their ass. John

Smalls,

If the law changes...then it wont be illegal.

Just because I dont like the low cat hunting quotas doesnt give me the right to break the law and shoot them illegally. I also wont be looking for sympathy, or expect any, if I get caught shooting one illegally because I dont happen to agree with the current regulations. What I have to do is work through legal channels to change or adjust the quotas.

These fuggin' pot heads are looking for slack where there shouldnt be any...the law is more than clear. Until it changes, they deserve exactly what they get.

I don't agree with this at all, the medical loophole is BS in my opinion. Any medical value that pot has can be replicated by other legal herbs or chemicals.
I can easily walk in and get a green card if I'd like, but haven't even considered it.

Allowing it to be legal for certain parties is making more trouble for them then it's worth. It either needs to be legal or not, no in between.

I really don't understand - when I read smalls comments and BuzzH, seems both are saying the same thing... both understand it is illegal, both agree laws can / may change, both agree in abiding by what is currently legal and neither are proclaiming it should be done regardless the law...

Seems agreement that no one wants to offer a soft shoulder for the putz discussed in the article...

Is there something I am missing?

One Hispanic jurror was real nervous and when the lawyer asked him about it he said "I've never been on this side of the bench before, I'm used to being on that side" and he pointed at the Defendents chair :D

Pot and more

I spent 8 years in Law Enforcement, while still being a Radio/TV news anchor. Now as a mentor/monitor in a High School I can see a huge increase in the use and abuse of illegal and legal substances. It's not pretty and it is not going to get any more pretty in the future unless the laws are upheld. There are now capsules that contain the Marajuana drug available through authorized medical outlets. Since I don't smoke or drink ( I am not a do-gooder or someone who carries signs) But, when I quit smoking and drinking a long time ago, in two years I saved enough to buy a '65 Ford Mustang Convertible. I don't run away from smokers, just move upwind, go to bars to watch games and socialize, but drink sasparilla. Oh well, we old timers think in the past...(That was when I experienced my most memorable hunts)

Jury nullification never became an issue in the Missoula case -- there was never a jury. While Deschamps was wrestling with what to do during a recess, the defendant, Touray Cornell, agreed to accept a conviction on a felony count of distribution of his one-sixteenth of an ounce of dangerous drugs. He was sentenced to 20 years, with 19 years suspended to run concurrently with the sentence on another conviction for conspiring to stage a set-up robbery at a casino.

...however, I am for the legalization of robbing casinos.

Example of who? The Mexican Consulate? Haha! I would say a name here - though the peace lately has been rather soothing as of recent.

How would you like the judge to say " It's just a small buck so poaching it is OK"

Everyone most be bored .Need a new hunting season. Some people are legal within there State.Just saying.

Bored - fully agree, the new season needs to roll in. Archery season is JUST around the corner... (wishful thinking).

I do not believe any state has recreational use legal... medicinal (if you call it medicinal), yes... though recreation? no.

At my kids school the parents who grow their own medical marijuana are having their kids sell it to others kids for about 20 bucks a pop. Kids getting hooked because of thei f-in bad law. I cant stand this medical marijuana bullshit.
