I have never done this type of artwork before, but thought I'd share it with y'all. A few months back Mountain Hollow Game Calls contacted me and commissioned me to create a drawing for a new box call they were desiging. I submitted my drawing and to my surprise they liked it so much they decided to make it a "two-call" set. It is also a limited edition offering only. They will only make 50. I don't know if they have any left or not as they sold more than half the first week they released them. Here is an image of the calls I received for doing the artwork. Eventhough they sound great (each one is hand tuned by the owner), I think they are too pretty to hunt with.

Here is a different angle that shows off the wood better. Unfortunately scans and digital photography don't do justice to these calls. Much of the detail of the drawing and beauty of the wood grain are lost in these images. Hopefully it's good enough to get an idea what they look like anyway.

Nemont actually I feel bad that I haven't bought a tag or been out yet. I'm coaching soccer this spring among other things and my time has been severly limited. However, this weekend I intend to give turkey hunting a serious effort. My hopes aren't high, but I just have to try.

they look like they should draw in a big TOM without a doubt. Do you have a link to them by chance so I can see about getting a set? Or at least try LOL

Even though the pictures may not do the calls justice they are very pretty looking. Great artwork as well.

Bandit the link to their webiste is: http://mountainhollow.theshoppe.com/
However, the call will not be listed on the website. Since it is a limited edition and they won't be around for very long I don't think they will bother to post them on the site. It is best to contact Ken Hammel (the owner) at:
Phone (315) 265-3601
e-mail [email protected]
It is most likely you will get his phone answering machine as he is in and out a lot. However, he is really good to return calls.

Elkchsr, yup the artwork is showing up in all kinds of places. Now if I just discover some of it on a public bathroom stall I'll know I have arrived. :D

LOL....

When are you going to get it into the Cabela's show rooms, it is far better than some if not all that I have seen... :)

Actually about 13 years ago I talked briefly with Cabelas at their Sidney Nebraska store. I didn't really get anywhere. Then again I have improved since then. I haven't seen them do much with black and white work, but maybe it's time they do.
